Our Founders
The Glassed Diplomat was born from my desire to create a platform where the voices, perspectives, and experiences of women and marginalized groups in international relations (IR) are not only heard but prioritized. Traditional diplomatic spaces often overlook these essential viewpoints, so I created this journal to challenge those norms. Through thoughtful analysis, intersectional dialogue, and bold storytelling, The Glassed Diplomat aims to reshape global conversations, ensuring feminist insights are at the forefront of IR discourse, creating a more inclusive and equitable future in international affairs
Katerina Harvalias
I dedicate this journal to my childhood friend, whose laughter and dreams still echo in my heart. You left far too soon, but your spirit inspires every word and every page. I hope the voices elevated here will carry forward the courage, compassion, and vision you embodied, touching the world in the way you always dreamed.
My name is Botshelo “Kaykay” Baloyi. I am a proudly South African, 21-year-old MBA student at the London School of Business and the Founder/CEO of UmkhoAI the only artificial intelligence in the world built for governments and citizens. I create AI solutions for African people and their presidents, but my love for international relations has always existed beyond tech. My passion for geopolitics was born out of forced activism after witnessing so many silent and loud pains that minorities faced globally. I decided I couldn’t be anything but an agent of change for my people in this industry.

This journal is dedicated to my mother, Yvonne Baloyi - an IT project manager who built her 24-year career in tech. I watched her getting ready for work everyday, stepping into boardrooms and conferences, where as a boss she had to fight to be heard in a male dominated industry. This is for the countless times she was unseen for her work, dismissed for her achievements, and given less than she deserved. This dedication is to remind her that it was not in vain.
